Environmental Research Assistant
The Environmental Research Assistant is responsible for supporting the Environmental Lab Specialist and Environmental Program Manager with conducting and managing all laboratory analysis specific to marine biotoxins, managing research projects, developing standard operating procedures for laboratory methods, and reporting findings and submitting required reports. Daily activities include working in the Sitka Tribe of Alaska Environmental Research Lab (STAERL), processing samples submitted by partner organizations, running assays to quantify biotoxins, maintaining equipment, analyzing and entering data, and communicating laboratory results. The Environmental Research Assistant is expected to work both independently and as part of a team.
